"DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" is a song by American vocaliser Usher, featuring guest vocals from American rapper Pitbull, who co-wrote the song with the producers Shellback and Max Martin, with boosted writing from Savan Kotecha. It was released to digital download on December xi, 2010, and sent to radio on December 24, 2010, as the offset single from Conductor's EP, Versus EP, which is an extension of his 6th studio album, Raymond v. Raymond. An electronic dance rails with a Europop mode (though the track was recorded in the United States), the song puts accent on its chorus, and follows the chord progression of Gm-F-Eastward♭. Information technology received mixed to positive reviews from critics, who favored its production and Usher'southward vocals, but criticized the vocal's lack of originality.

"DJ Got The states Fallin' in Love" peaked in the top-ten in over fifteen countries, becoming one of Usher'due south most successful singles. It reached the top-three on the Japan Hot 100, Canadian Hot 100, Republic of hungary Singles Nautical chart, French Singles Chart and ARIA Singles Nautical chart. It peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, mark Usher'south sixteenth top-x hitting on the nautical chart. Groundwork and limerick [edit]

"DJ Got Us Fallin' in Dearest" was leaked on the net on December i, 2010, with its follow-upwardly single "Hot Tottie" leaked later that month.[ane] [2] The song was released from Versus as the EP's mainstream unmarried, whereas the latter track was released as the urban single.[3] "DJ Got United states of america Fallin' in Dear" features guest vocals by rapper Pitbull, who co-wrote it with Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Shellback, with product handled past the latter two.[four] It was recorded at Maratone Studios, Stockholm, Sweden and at Conway Studios, Los Angeles, California, handled by Sam The netherlands and Emily Wright. Lamb criticized Pitbull's appearance, writing that his poesy is "tossed on as a commercial gimmick", while likewise writing that the song doesn't compare well to Usher's "OMG" (2010).[7] Billboard 'due south Michael Menachem described Pitbull's verse every bit "energizing" and wrote that Conductor'southward "high register fits seamlessly with trip the light fantastic beats". It became Usher's 2d peak-20 debut of 2010, later "OMG" opened at number fourteen in Apr.[13] On the calendar week ending December 24, 2010 "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" was positioned at number v. "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" peaked at number two on the Canadian Hot 100 chart,[18] and was certified 2 times Platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA), for shipments of over 160,000 copies. It peaked at number iii on the Australian Singles Charts,[19] and received a six times Platinum certification by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).[xx] The song reached number four on the New Zealand Singles Chart,[21] and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ). "DJ Got United states Fallin' in Love" was certified Platinum in the regions of México and Switzerland, past the AMPROFON and IFPI, respectively. The song accomplished success in Europe, peaking at number three on the European Hot 100.[ citation needed ] Internationally "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" reached the elevation-10 in over fifteen countries, becoming one of Conductor'southward virtually successful singles. It peaked in the top five in Japan,[22] Hungary,[23] France,[24] Switzerland,[25] Germany[26] and Austria.[27]

By February 2011, the song had reached 3 million in digital sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan, making it the second single of 2010 for both Usher and Pitbull to achieve the figure (Usher'southward "OMG" sold three,957,000 copies, while "I Similar It" performed by lead artist Enrique Iglesias sold three,197,000).[28] It reached its 4 million sales marking in the US in April 2013.[29] [30] As of June 2014, the song has sold iv,198,000 copies in the U.s.a..[30]

The music video for the song premièred on Baronial 26, 2010, on Vevo, and was directed past Hiro Murai.[31] [32] The video begins in a society environment, with misplaced article of furniture and a shattered drinking glass canteen. The scene goes in reverse motion, people instantly appear, frozen in a raving action. As the scene is still reversing a DJ is spinning his booth, and the shattered glass bottle forms into its original state, the clubbers and the scene so get-go to motion in forward but tedious motion and the song begins with Usher approaching from a set of stairs. Conductor sings and dances, while moving past clubbers who are still moving in slow motion while he is in moving normally. Once the chorus comes in, the clubbers begin dancing and raving in normal movement, periodically slowing down; Conductor is krumping laissez passer them, moving on to the side by side scene. Usher slides into a room with a large lit upward window as a back driblet. He performs choreography backed-up by female dancers for the 2d verse, and then returns to the original room with the 2nd chorus coming in. A similar scene is involved to the first chorus, but this fourth dimension Conductor is dancing with the clubbers, who are all the same alternate in motion speed. Pitbull then begins his verse, and is sat in a V.I.P. area with 3 females, with the camera alternating betwixt him, the clubbers and Conductor. The video ends with its final scene, in a trip the light fantastic off, with Usher dancing adjacent to some of the clubbers. Once the climax of the chorus comes in, Usher jumps in the air and starts freely dancing forth with the clubbers, with everyone in the same motion speed; Usher is primarily crip-walking. Usher outset performed "DJ Got The states Fallin' in Dear" on Practiced Morning America, aslope "OMG".[33] A few days later, Conductor performed the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Evidence.[34] On Dec 17, 2010, he performed the song alongside "In that location Goes My Baby" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[35] Conductor performed "DJ Got The states Fallin' in Love" in the season v finale of America's Got Talent,[36] and in the seventh season of The 10 Factor.[37] He performed the song during his OMG Bout, alongside several other tracks.[38] The song was performed with "OMG" during the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.[39] VMA executive producer Dave Sirulnick told MTV News, "We said to him, 'Nosotros want to do the best televised dance routine that you've done in years. Allow's show why yous're the male monarch.'"[39] MTV Buzzworthy writer, Tamar Antai was present at the rehearsal for the show, and commented that the VMA crew was about to "pull off visual feats not but previously unseen and unparalleled at the VMAs, but unseen and unparalleled on Goggle box."[forty]

The operation was received with critical acclaim. On Usher specifically Antai said the performance was similar "liquid magic," maxim, "He took it to the level that comes later on the next level.
